“Greatest Love” Cotillion

History

The “Greatest Love” Cotillion is the signature program of Theta Iota Omega Chapter in partnership with the IFSNC. The inaugural Cotillion was held in 1980 under the leadership of Theta Iota Omega’s fifth chapter president, Mary A. Adams. It is through this biennial Cotillion program that participants are given an opportunity to achieve the following:

  • formally showcase their transition into young adulthood in front of family, friends and the Long Island community
  • develop their talents and skills through community service projects, self-improvement workshops, mentoring and cultural enrichment activities
  • develop important life skills that are essential to the changing workplace and our complex society.

Mission of the “Greatest Love” Cotillion

The “Greatest Love” Cotillion gives young people an opportunity to enhance their cultural awareness,
strengthen their social skills, foster their leadership abilities, encourage global citizenship and promote high scholastic achievement. The “Greatest Love” Cotillion has been our signature program since 1980. It is a yearlong program that strengthens families while impacting our community positively.

For 44 years, the “Greatest Love” Cotillion has allowed us to award over $300,000 in academic, cultural and community service scholarships. The “Greatest Love” Cotillion is a once in a lifetime opportunity and our goal is to celebrate community service and academic achievement.
